About Colorado Springs Bat Removal

Welcome to coloradospringsbatremoval.com. We are the only qualified bat removal company in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Having pest animals active around your home or business premises can prove to be a real nuisance, as it will often take you away from doing all of the other tasks that you had planned. However, it isn't wise to ignore signs of a potential animal infestation, as almost any species that becomes active inside your home can often cause a lot of damage in a relatively small period of time. Our animal removal service has been highly rated by hundreds of our satisfied customers, and you can see the reviews about our service online. While we can deal with all kinds of animals, one of our specialties is bat removal, where all our staff have the right level of training and knowledge to deal with the issue. Bats can be a challenge as they require a different skillset to remove, as traps are really inefficient in this instance. Our technician will visit your home, and thoroughly inspect your attic or loft space, which is where bats are usually present, and they will find every single hole they are using to get in and out. They will then repair and seal most of these holes, before using exclusion netting over the last one or two holes, which will allow the bats to leave your property, but stop them from getting out again. Our technicians are also fully trained in building repairs and sanitizing the area, to make sure there are no harmful cells remaining in your property. We operate 24-7-365, so don't hesitate to call us at 719-463-0005 to discuss your bat problem and schedule a fast appointment.

Residential

We are experts at removing bats from residential properties. Whether you have a single bat trapped in your house, a colony roosting in your attic, and/or various other problems, there is no need to worry! During our removal process, we make sure to inspect your entire home carefully, tracking down all the entrypoints bats are using to invade your place. Next, we perform a process called live exclusion (where no bats are harmed and all exit your property), then seal all entry holes completely shut. We also take care of the cleanup process after, so your home is safe and clean!

Commercial

Besides residential areas, we also have a wealth of experience removing bats from commercial properties! We begin by investigating the area for possible bat entrances, covering holes even as small as 1/4 of an inch. Through our live exclusion process, bats leave the building through one-way exits, and we seal up every hole afterward. Once the bats have been removed, we perform a cleanup process. This includes dealing with guano, replacing damaged insulation, and decontaminating the place.

What Our Customers Say

How to Get Free Bat Removal

There are many places a bat will look at for a potential roost. Many of them are man made because we have been drastically changing their environment. Even if the roost is a temporary one for the season, it may still be in a human home, apartment, barn, hotel, log cabin, or shed. Bats can carry many pathogens that can affect you, your family, and your pets. The first sign you see of a bat, whether it be a bat itself or the droppings, you should begin looking for an alternative roosting location. Investigate your property to see what is going on and contact a local wildlife specialist for advice or questions.

Unfortunately, getting bat removal for free is a significant challenge.

You Want to Limit Interactions

Unfortunately, bats can carry diseases that can transfer to humans and pets. That means you need to focus on limiting your interactions with the species. Bats are fur-covered and thus have the potential for fleas and other skin-infecting pests. The only times a bat would be aggressive toward humans that will result in an attack is if a maternity colony is disturbed, the bat feels its life is in extreme danger and cannot escape, or the bat is sick.

Bat Droppings

Even if you do not see any bats, you may still have problems with them. If they were around your home and have left for the season, you could be dealing with the cleanup. Their waste, both urine and feces, is corrosive to different surfaces like metal, wood, and fabric. Guano, when dry, can become airborne if disturbed and carry infectious diseases. A well-known lung disease called histoplasmosis is a fungus that grows in bat guano. There are parasites that reside in waste that can burrow into human skin if you touch or handle it.

One of the biggest issues with bat droppings and leavings is the cleanup. If you find a small pile of dark pellets in a dark portion of your attic, do not use a broom to clean it. The broom can kick up dust which may cause unnecessary health issues. If you are not sure of the creature that left the mess, always protect yourself with gloves and a mask that covers your nose and mouth.

DIY Exclusion

Your local animal control agency may not help as bats are not considered dangerous when healthy. Exclusion is the only appropriate method for a non-professional to deal with a bat infestation. In many cases, if you can watch the bats leaving the area and returning at dusk and dawn respectively, you can determine how big the colony is. The smaller the colony, the easier it will be for you to deal with it directly. Check with your local wildlife specialists to determine the time frame for bat colonies. If it is maternity season, you will be breaking the law by attempting to remove or exclude the bat colony. It is illegal to kill bats. Forcing the mothers of recently birthed pups out of your home will cause the pups to starve and die.

If you want to exclude the bats yourself for free (minus supplies), find yourself some netting with 1/6 mesh and a method of attaching it to your home. Some people have resorted to duct tape in a pinch, or you can use washers and screws. You will also want some piping that is around 1.5 inches in diameter with a smooth inside. A cleaned-out caulk tube with the ends cut off works well for this purpose. You want to set up the potential entry sites a bat may use so they can get out of your house but not back into it.

No Such Thing as Free

There is no simple way to remove bats for free. "Free" often means that you are buying supplies from a home improvement store that will cost you a pretty penny. In small numbers, it might be worth it because you can use the supplies for that time and if it happens again. The larger the colony, the more supplies you will need to pick up and the harder it can be on you. If you have the patience and willpower, it might suit you best to set up a bat exclusion method around your home.

If you are not able to handle it, investigate a professional service. Bats are a protected species and mishandling the colony, the roost, or the bats themselves can lead you into legal trouble.
